For over three years, the heartbeat of Encore Village has been beautifully reflected through the lens of our Media and Technology Manager, Jack. With every click of his camera, he doesn’t just take a photo—he tells a story.
His mission? To capture the very soul of Encore Village—the warmth of a candid smile, the embrace between residents, the unmistakable sense of community that makes this place home. “I’m always looking for those authentic moments,” Jack shares. “The smiles, the embraces—those are the moments that truly tell the story of life here.”
Balancing the elegance of Encore Village’s surroundings with the vibrant personalities of its residents is an art he’s mastered. At each event, he starts with the little details—the glimmer of decorations, the inviting spread of refreshments, the atmosphere of the space. But it’s the residents who bring the magic. “I love ending with the smiles,” he says. “Capturing that excitement and joy is the best part.”
One memory, however, soars above the rest—literally. As part of Encore Dreams, he joined a resident on their first-ever hot air balloon ride, an experience that left an imprint on his heart and his camera roll. “Neither of us had done it before,” he recalls. “Floating together, witnessing the joy and wonder on their face—it’s one of my favorite moments I’ve ever captured. Every time I look at those portraits, it takes me back to that peaceful, happy place.”
But photography here is about more than preserving memories—it plays a vital role in welcoming new families. “Photos are the first thing people see when researching a community,” he explains. “If our photos don’t capture fun, engagement, and warmth, they might pass us by. My goal is to make sure anyone who sees our images feels drawn in, like they already belong.”
Preparing for each shoot is a thoughtful process. Jack arrives early, ensuring every detail—every backdrop, every setting—is just right. And when residents arrive, he’s ready, capturing their genuine reactions as they step into each thoughtfully crafted event.
Through Jack’s eyes, Encore Village comes alive—a vibrant, joyful place where every resident feels seen, celebrated, and at home.
