Encore Village turned up the heat with its first-ever Battle of the Bites, a flavorful chef showdown judged by residents and staff—where great food and community came together for a deliciously fun event.

The community buzzed with excitement as two of our talented chefs stepped into the culinary ring, each bringing their best dish to the table in pursuit of victory, bragging rights, and a sweet new trophy. With spatulas blazing and flavors flying, this was more than a cook-off—it was a celebration of creativity, community, and a whole lot of good food.
After an intense round of tasting and judging, Chef Brian D. Acosta Pimento took home the grand prize, impressing the panel with his flavorful Churrasco Steak served with Arroz Mamposteao Rice, his signature garlic sauce, and perfectly crisp fried plantains. The dish was a bold blend of Latin flavor, expert technique, and irresistible flair.
Our judging panel featured a mix of three residents and three staff members, each scoring the dishes on a scale of 1 to 10. And while the competition was close, Brian’s plate won the day—and the applause.
